April is Autism Awareness Month

Every April we celebrate World Autism Month, beginning with United Nations – sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. The month focuses on providing opportunities to increase understanding and celebrating the diversity of people on the spectrum.

Autism Awareness Month also saw the release of the NDIA’s consultation paper ‘Interventions for children on the autism spectrum’. The NDIA is seeking feedback from families, care givers and practitioners on the best ways to support children with autism.

To attend a ‘Have Your Say’ event, please register via: https://www.eventbrite.com.au
