What is Positive Behaviour Support?

A behaviour support plan is a document prepared in consultation with: the participant, their families, carers, support networks.

The behaviour support plan contains evidence-informed strategies and seeks to improve the person’s quality of life, by providing specialised therapeutic services and behaviour support to develop individualised strategies to reduce behaviours of concern, or people with a disability who are subject to restrictive interventions.

Our trained and registered Practitioners will meet with you and other important people in your life such as family and allied health professionals. We will aim to;

· Understand you and your environment

· Assess behaviours and triggers

· Identify desired behaviour

· Devise strategies that promote positive reinforcement

· Work with you to reduce the use of restrictive interventions

This link is a video on youtube we came across that further explains Behaviour Support for you:

Did you know? The NDIS Commission has released a great Practice Guide on the use of regulated restrictive practice with children and young people under 18 with a disability. The guide can be found via: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/
